Boat connections in the Cyclades (update on March the 2nd, 2023)

Most of the boats to the Cyclades and the other islands of the Aegean Sea leave from the harbour of Piraeus.

Grosso modo we can distinguish the following lines:

- the fast line to Santoríni, via Páros, Náxos (and Ios): every morning at 7.25am with the Blue Star Dilos, arrival at Athinió at 2.50pm; return at 3.30pm with arrival in Piraeus at 11.25pm
- the fast line to Sýros, Tínos and Mýkonos:  every morning at 7.30am with the Blue Star Paros, arrival at Mykonos at 12.45pm; return at 2.15pm and arrival in Piraeus at 7.45pm
- the western line to Kýthnos, Sérifos, Sífnos, Kímolos, Mílos, Folégandros, Síkinos, Ios and Santoríni(3 times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the Dionysios Solomos - return on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday)
- a line to Amorgós: to Katápola or Egiáli, and sometimes even further to Astypálea, via (Sýros), Páros, Náxos and the small Cyclades (in Summer every day, at 06.45am, with the Blue Star Naxos; return at 7.00pm/7.55pm, with arrival at Piraeus the day after at 05.10am - until 3/6 and after 13/9 every day to Katápola or Egiáli, but departure at 5.30pm, arrival on Amorgós at 01.10am/02.50am; return at 06.00am/06.55am, with arrival at Piraeus at 3.00pm
- in Summer, there is a connection with Anáfi via Santoríni: 2 times per week, on Thursday and Sunday, at 5.30pm with the Blue Star Patmos
- and there is also the north-south-line from Mýkonos, over Náxos to Santoríni and Iráklio (Crete) (usually only from the beginning of May until half October, with the Power Jet).

Páros and Náxos often act as central islands, where you can change between different lines.

Until 2008, there were also a few smaller boats, like the Panagía Tínou and the Panagía Chozoviótissa, connecting various islands and thus making it possible to transfer from one large line to another: they connected, for instance, Lávrio and the islands of Andros, Kéa, Kýthnos, Sýros, Páros, Náxos, Síkinos, Santoríni, Anáfi, Folégandros, Mílos, Sérios, Sífnos etc. Since 2009, they have been replaced by the Artemis.

Close to Amorgós, the Express Skopelítis connects the harbour of Katápola with the northern harbour of Egiáli, the small Cyclades (Donoússa, Koufonísi, Schinoússa and Irakliá) and Náxos - and this every day (except on Sunday). The departure from Katápola is at 7am or 8.20am, the return from Náxos at 2pm and the arrival back in Katápola at 5.00pm or 8.20pm.

From the harbour of Rafína there is, usually 4 times a day, a connection with  Andros, Tínos and Mýkonos (with the Theologos, the Fast Ferries Andros, the Superferry or the Ekaterini).

From the harbour of Lávrio there is, usually twice a day, a connection with  Kéa (with the Makédoon and the Mármari Express).

In summer there are a lot of additional fast connections with catamarans (High Speed, Seajet, Super Jet, Speedrunner...).
