Estimated time: It takes a little over an hour (AWT) to reach the first beach of Livadáki; the walk to the splendid beach of Agios Geórgios lasts for a little less than half an hour - a total distance of 5,34 km. The way back takes exactly the same time, so that the actual walking time amounts to a total of 3 hours. As for us, we have walked (in TWT) for a little over seven hours, with of course a long break of almost 2 hours at the beach of Agios Geórgios.

Route description: (0h00) You depart from the heart of Chorió, from the beautiful little square with the long name: Platía Ikonómou Spyrídonos Ramfoú, the "Kámbos" (the Field) in popular speech. When standing next to the kafenío "O Kambos" and with your back to the little church with the blue vaults, you take the Agios Spyrídoon, the main street, on the left of the white chapel – this street runs towards the north.

The platía or Kámbos, the central square of Chorió.

In this way you pass the iatrío (the clinic) and some shops. On the square with a well you keep to the right, and you continue in the main street. You pass a minimarket, the bakery, a greengrocery, and another butcher, next to the church with a blue dome of Papadí and Theoskepastí . You then arrive at the post office and the OTE-aerial, with straight across the small pantopolío of Kikí Marináki.

You continue straight ahead, you keep to the left and after some 7 minutes you arrive at a heavy electricity post with a hiking sign on the left, pointing to Paleókastro and the Skiádi – see the hikes to the Skiádi.

(0h07) But this time, you take the little road that leads STRAIGHT towards the small church with a flat roof. Near this chapel, the street continues straight ahead, but you take the small concrete road that descends to the RIGHT of the church. Soon, this road becomes a path paved with round stones, and a little less than 2 minutes later, you arrive at a bifurcation. You descend to the left on a small concrete road that zigzags down, but soon you get to a beautiful trail, wide and with a beautiful pavement, which continues between walls in a pleasant landscape – undulating hills, some chapels, a gentle valley on your left and a winding path ahead of you!

The broad path to Monastíria.

A little more than 7 minutes after the church, you descend to into a small valley on an uneven path - the road that continues straight ahead leads to Monastíria and Soúfi, see the hike Chorió - Monastíria - Soúfi and back.

(0h16) You thus take a RIGHT before the river bed and cross the bridge that has been beautifully restored.

A splendid bridge near the beginning of the walk to Agios Geórgios.

The small gravel road later becomes a very stony trail that goes up and down rises and falls in a pleasant landscape. After about 5 minutes, you continue on a beautiful trail with an uneven pavement; a little further, you keep to the right while staying on the main trail - now it goes up fairly quickly, in a landscape with many small terraces and beautiful walls.

The broad path with its uneven pavement

Thereafter, the monopáti becomes more stony and at the top, it becomes more or less a small gravel road.

(0h27) You continue straight in the middle of rolling hills - here and there, the fields are still cultivated. After arriving at the top, you leave a small side road to the right and descend on a small reddish road, with from time to time on the right side some remains of the old pavement. You are already seeing the white coast in the distance, as well as the road that continues very far ahead. Further on, you still descend and you cross a small bridge in the valley.
(0h39) Immediately after, you get to a wide side road where you go right. You go up again, but very soon and in a right turn, you take a narrow little road on the left side.
Soon you find to the left of a large walled field a beautiful trail, farther, it becomes reddish and stony. You descend into a valley, then you go up again between brown walls; soon after, there is a bifurcation, where you keep to the to right (blue marks).
You descend and ascend on a red path, sometimes between black rocks; after 7 minutes, you arrive on top of a reddish height, with the white rocks of the bays in front of you – all those colors!

The reddish soil...

(0h57) Pay attention: you do not continue to go down straight ahead, but you take a RIGHT onto a narrow road, that runs to the left of a wall crowned by a low fence. At the end of this wall, you step over an obstacle formed of some bushes and you continue straight. The trail gradually becomes a gravel track, which descends for 6 minutes until you get to a white gravel road. In front of you lies the small beach of Livadáki, hidden behind the reeds -  a small path leads there, but there is no shade.

(1h05) You follow the gravel road to the left and you go down, with a beautiful view of the bay and the beach of Pígados with, off the coast, the islet of Pítta. Here, there is some shadow, but the beach is covered with large inhospitable stones.

(1h12) So you still continue your walk for another 700 meters. The gravel road is now very wide:  you keep to the left where the road becomes even wider and you pass the few houses of the hamlet Prása. You continue along the sea and the bay, with to your right the island of Prasónissi– here you get a beautiful view of the beach and the bright white beach and the marvellous rocks of Agios Geórgios. You thus arrive at that dazzling white beach – it is really an idyllic sandy beach and there tamarisks. (1h31)

A truly idyllic sandy beach...

[The road continues, it goes up to  the left to the quarry of gravel and limestone.
At the end of the beach begins a rather wide path, almost a little road, that leads in 5 minutes until the cape of Agios Geórgios - there is there a simple chapel, and the view on Polýaigos is very nice.]

(1h31) You retrace your steps, all along the wide bay of Prása - at the end of the bay there is a small road to the left towards "Iatriká Loutrá / Curative Baths" (road sign). You continue straight, while you pass again next to the desolate quarries on the left and right side – and so you pass also the beaches of Pígados and Livadáki.

(1h57) Just past the small road and the road sign "Livadáki" you find to the right rather vague track, just past a large field surrounded by a wall. You cross the gate made of the bed frame and you follow the track for 6 minutes; beyond a breach in the wall, the trail becomes narrower, a true path. You pass the barrier of bushes and the trail continues beside a wall.

(2h06) When the wall veers to the left, you find in front of you the clear path, which descends on a dark reddish soil. You follow this magnificent trail for 16 minutes - sometimes it is difficult because of the lose stones, but it is still very enjoyable because of multicolored stones and rocks - from white and gray until red or even black.

(2h22) You thus get to a gravel road, besides the field surrounded by a wall – you take a right here. A little later, you continue straight, but after a little less than 2 minutes, you go left to cross the bridge and you go up on a small white road. Notice also the colorful walls!
You follow this pleasant road for many minutes, with on the left side the chapel of Agia Fotíni and to the right that of Agii Apóstoli - and a little further, you see already Chorió in the distance.

(2h36) After 12 beautiful minutes, you arrive in front of the last large valley that separates you from Chorió - a splendid valley with four chapels ...
The trail that descends becomes a real stony monopáti, with occasionally a beautiful pavement.

While descending on a splendid path...

The landscape is quiet and peaceful in the evening sun and so you get after 9 minutes to the big bridge. You still need 10 minutes to reach the first houses; then you continue up to the church and finally you always proceed straight ahead until you reach the Platía. (3h03)
